Center for Theoretical Biology

The Center for Theoretical Biology (CTB) was formally established on September 17, 2001, as a result of the collective efforts of interested faculty members and the visionary support from Prof. TD Lee and PKU leadership. When AAIS was setup in 2006, CTB became one of its first affiliates. CTB’s mission is to promote research, education, international exchange and collaboration at the interface of physical and biological sciences and to become an international center for the emerging interdisciplinary field of Systems Biology. CTB is supported by Peking University, Chinese Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, and by National Natural Science Foundation of China as its first Interdisciplinary Innovation Group. CTB is located in the Building of Beijing Institute of Modern Physics, with faculty offices, visiting scholar offices, conference rooms, student offices, computer room, and quantitative biology laboratories. CTB provides an excellent interactive research and education environment for students, faculty and visitors.
